Please help! Girls only shaving?

Okay so I have started shaving my pubic hair. I get in the bath tub then I get in to the shower. I get out sit in front of my mirror and use shaving cream to shave down there. I go in the directions of the hair first and then against the hair growth. Going against the hair growth really hurts and cuts myself. even after that(take 30 min) I put lotion on it. But I always have stubble after. I can never get a super clean shave. There is always stubble that is really noticeable and think and prickly and I just can't get this hairs. I will not wax becuz my parents refuse. Please tell me step by step how to get the smoothest shave possible. I don't want to get a boyfriend and if I get naked then he sees a stubblely prickly and spikey vagina..
