Scratched too hard, gash In skin?

I had bad prickly heat recently on my leg so I scratched with the back of my sandal, it had a little metal on it, I rubbed so hard that I took off quite a nice amount of skin. This happened on Wednesday, and I kept bandages on it the whole time, is that why it's not scabbing over? Do I have skin cancer or something?
