How can Republicans even hope to gain votes to win the presidential election now?

Conservatives are hoping a bad economy gets pinned to Obama like a tail.. but I think most American's know that it wasn't Obama that brought us the bubble economy of the 2000's, or Obama that constantly blocks any legislation that favors the middle class in lieu of the mega wealthy and corporations.. Unemployment is a factor no doubt, but I'm not sure anyone can honestly pin it on Obama - Especially when conservatives almost daily put some new legislation on the agenda that actually destroys jobs.
