I epilated my arm now its PRICKLY, HARD, STUBBLE worst them shaving!! HELP?

I read that it makes ur skin really smooth and there will be less hair as it like like waxing- pulling the hair out,but from day one i got big bumps everywhere and some even bleed a little now they are growing back harder, and more prickly than hair on my leg that I shaved. Im only a 16 y/o girl now Im so embarrased I was going to do it all over my body :(
