False. It will be more prickly for the first few days but it won't grow any faster than normal. It is only prickly because when you shave it off, you blunt the end of the hair shaft and it was more soft and tapered before you shave. It may be slightly darker for the first few days again because the hair is blunt and therefore looks thicker to the eye. After a few days, the hairs will taper and will become softer and lighter again.
